Looks like someone besides the Smiths have taken residency in the new house!! Thanks goodness it is only a bird and not a rodent!!!! We are going to have to get some rubber snakes to put up there to keep the birds from building there again.

Ava, our inspector, is climbing the temporary steps to go inside and see what is going on.

Different Perspectives

Since I spent the week in BR last week, I enjoyed seeing some of the progress that has been happening.  The painting on the outside is nearly complete and sheath rocking on the inside is going well. These are 2 pictures of the stairwell beginning to shape up!

The back yard was needed to get around the house, so that is why the garage is going up now. The front of house is getting some of the final details with window and door trim as well as siding. Jeff and I will head over there this weekend. I will stay for the week to help take care of  Ava and Hope as Ava has spring break and Joanna's is next week. I will be able to give "the spy photographer" (that what the builders call Joanna when she arrives for her daily picture taking) a break.

Getting closer!

It seem like a while since I posted any info on the house. I was away all last week staying with Jennifer and Grayson a couple of nights as Kevin was in N. Dakota. I then went on to Baton Rouge to stay with the Lemoines. Jeff flew in on Friday and we came back on Sunday.
The house is looking great! Above are some pictures of the beginning of the installation of our stairs. Doesn't look like much more than pieces, but it is only the carriage of the steps and the beginning of the wall going up the steps.

"Temples in the Wind"

Classic order with Corinthian Capitals called "Temple of the Winds"- Sound like a mouthful, but that is the name of the columns that will be across the front porch! The pictures shows one already installed. (on the far right)

Windows are in, most of the outside is painted, and the roof is on! What's next???

Siding on one side of the house is finished. NO, that is not the final color! We will be painted it once all is up and finished on the outside.

This is the OOP! window! Last weekend the
workers put a regular window in where we are going to put our sail boat stained glass
window.

Tree in front of house that surely will need trimming.
